Friday Fun- June 20th 2014

I am going to be sharing with 3 different book memes on Fridays: Friday Finds, Book Beginnings on Friday and The Friday 56. So, let's get started.
(FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased). )

I have several new books that I have found and placed on my TBR list, they are sort of taking the place of some of the others that I never got to and have made their way back to the library.

I am really enjoying Lis Wiehl's other books, and I thought these sounded like something I would enjoy as well.

(Please join Gilion Dumas for Book Beginnings every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.)

My book beginning is from Face of Betrayal by Lis Wiehl.

"'Come on, Jalapeno!' Katie Converse jerked the dog's leash. Reluctantly, the black Lab mix lifted his nose and followed her. Katie wanted to hurry, but everything seemed to invite Jalapeno to stop, sniff, and lift his leg. And there was no time for that now. Not today."

You have to wonder what it is she is in such a hurry. By reading the synopsis of the book, the reader knows that Katie is going to disappear. What is going to happen to her and why?

The Friday 56 is hosted over at Freda's Voice.
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that's ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it) that grab you.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It's that simple.

Here is my Friday 56.

I will also be sharing my Friday 56 from Face of Betrayal by Lis Wiehl

"But this time Jerry seemed to think he knew. 'It's the Katie Converse thing. People are eating that up,' he said. Last night's program delivered a 9.7 household rating and a 15 percent share in the metered-market overnights."
