What am I currently reading?

I am still reviewing The Dancing Master by Julie Klassen. This is the second book I have read by this author, though I am having a harder time getting into the story. Plus, it has been way to easy to put it aside to read other books, like Insurgent and Allegiant, plus the A Matter of Trust which I reviewed last week.

I haven't finished Wake Up Missing by Kate Messner yet. Once again, too easy to put down so I can pick up the others.

I have also picked up another book that I was supposed to review a while ago. I just remembered about it and will be trying to get it finished. It is Storm Warning by Billy Graham

I am currently reading Allegiant, the third book in the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. I have heard that it is not as good as the other two, which has me worried a bit, but I will give it a fair shot. I didn't like Mockingjay very much either the first time I read it. After a second reading I liked it more.

What did I recently finish reading?

I did not plan to be able to say I finished reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth this week. I was 9th in the queue and suddenly I received an email notification on Saturday that it was available. We put everything aside to go grab my book, and I spent the rest of the day reading the book. I will be writing my review soon, but needless to say, it was a fast moving, can't put this down book. Not quite as good as Divergent, but I enjoyed it.

What do I think I will read next?

Now that I have read Insurgent and am reading Allegiant, I no longer have them on my TBR list. The problem is, the books I planned on reading by Ted Dekker are now being put on the back burner as I have the Triple Thread series from Lis Wiehl available to me. I am hoping they will be as good as A Matter of Trust.

What am I currently reading?

I am still reviewing The Dancing Master by Julie Klassen. This is the second book I have read by this author, though I am having a harder time getting into the story.

I found the book Wake Up Missing by Kate Messner at the library while the children were enjoying Story Hour last Saturday. This is a young adult suspense book which has an interesting plot. 

I have also picked up another book that I was supposed to review a while ago. I just remembered about it and will be trying to get it finished. It is Storm Warning by Billy Graham

What did I recently finish reading?

While I was supposed to be reading the books listed above, they sort of got pushed to the back burner while I read A Matter of Trust: A Mia Quinn Mystery by Lis Wiehl, with April Henry.

I discovered this book when I received the BookLook Bloggers May email with available review items listed. The second book in this series was one of the selections, so I decided to grab this book from the library to see how I liked it. Let's just put it this way, I couldn't put the book down, and it was finished in 2 days. Not bad considering I still got our schooling done. I seem to be drawn to these murder mysteries right now and this one was full of plot twists just the way I like them. You can see my full review here.

What do I think I will read next?

Well, I would love for it to be Insurgent, but I don't foresee the library getting it in anytime soon as I am 9th in the queue. I will also be looking to put some more of Lis Wiehl's books on hold. I still have these books by Ted Dekker in my to be read library book box. So, we will just have to see.

Well, this seemed like a great way to resurrect my poor book blog. I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted over here. I guess one of the problems is I haven't been reading much new material lately. I know it is pathetic, but I keep going back to book series I have read and love. I am hoping by posting about the books I am reading and participating in memes I will find some other great books to read so I won't be tempted by the same old, same old.

What am I currently reading?

What did I recently finish reading?

A couple of weeks ago I picked up the book Distortion by Terri Blackstock at the library (again, during Story Hour). I was thrilled to see the second book in her Moonlighters Series had come out. I wasn't sure what to expect, but having another murder occur within the same circle of family/friends was a bit of a surprise. I figured it would have the same characters as they were the ones who had been moonlighting as P.I.s, but it threw me for a loop to see they were so personally involved again. 

I also finished Divergent by Veronica Roth. I am not sure why I waited so long to read this series, I guess it felt like it was going to be too similar to the Hunger Games trilogy and sounded a bit weird. I am glad I finally read Divergent though. It was a great read and I had a really hard time putting this one down. The idea of the different factions intrigued me to an extent, though seemed a bit confusing as well. There was a quite a bit of violence though. I am not in a hurry to reread the book, but I am on pins and needles waiting for the library to get Insurgent in for me. Every copy they have is out right now, and this is a huge interlibrary loan system I am talking about. 

What do I think I will read next?

Well, I would love for it to be Insurgent, but I don't foresee the library getting it in anytime soon as I have no clue where I am in the queue. So, while I am waiting I have a bunch of books out from another new-to-me author, Ted Dekker.

Here are my answers:

I am currently reading "One By One" by Gilbert Morris. It is a Christian suspense/mystery book.  I have the second book in the series.  Looking at Amazon it looks like there are more in the series but I don't know if I will be able to find them as some of them seem to have newer editions while the last 2 don't.  I am seeing 6 books total, not sure though.  I know our church library has more books by Gilbert Morris, but I have never read his work before.  So far this book is pretty good.  According to the back cover she takes over the detective agency for her dad because he is ill.  "Then while pursuing a new case, Dani becomes a victim herself.  She awakens in a strange place and finds herself surrounded by eleven other people...all clueless as to why they have been brought together."

I recently finished reading  "The Mystery at Lilac Inn" my favorite in the Nancy Drew series so far.  Only being on book four, I am not sure if I will get all of them read and complete the challenge, luckily it only takes me a day or two to read them. I gave this one 5 stars, here's  my review.

Right before that one I finished "Marked" by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast.  It was quite disappointing.  Here is my review, I only gave this one 1 star.  I decided not to complete Betrayed as I thought I would last week.  I will share why in a separate post.

I will probably read "And Then There Were Two" by Gilbert Morris (the second Dani Ross mystery).  And I need to start "Shades of Blue" by Karen Kingsbury for the Christian Fiction Book of the Month Club.  Additionally, I really need to start "Storm Warning" by Billy Graham for my Booksneeze review.

I am currently reading "Marked" by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast.  This is the first book in the House of Night series.   My bathroom also holds Twilight by Stephanie Meyer so it is getting reread a paragraph at a time.

I just finished "Teenage Vampire" by Florence Wilson.  I have mixed thoughts about this book.  I will be writing my review soon, I hope.  This is a debut novel by a teenage writer.

I guess I will be reading "Betrayed" by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast next, yes the 2nd book in the series.  That is if the first book doesn't completely turn me off.   I also need to get caught up on my Nancy Drew Challenge, so I think I will be reading The Mystery of Lilac Inn by Carolyn Keene.  Oh, and I also need to start Storm Warning by Billy Graham.
