Across the Ages by Gabrielle Meyer Review

Across the Ages is another wonderful book in Gabrielle Meyer's Timeless series. I love how each book is unique. The first story has one young lady time crossing (or living in two separate timelines). In the second book the protagonist lives in three separate times. The third book had twins time crossing together in two different times. This fourth book had one young lady living in two different times like the first book; however, Caroline does not have a time crossing parent in her life to guide her. She has no clue what is going on in her life. And when she was a young child she tried to tell loved ones that she had two different lives, but she was told to stop lying. It wasn't until she was 20 years old that she found a letter from her mother that let her know she wasn't the only one with this kind of life. So, she set out on a journey to find her mother. This journey eventually led to her being a captive on a pirate ship, disguised as a boy. Yet, she was determined to find a way to find her mother.

In her other time, Caroline was the daughter of a well respected preacher and evangalist in the time of Prohibition. Not only did she have to hide her secret in this life, but she also was trying to shield her parents from discovering the sinful lives her brothers were leading, while trying to shoulder the responsibiltiy of being the perfect Christian daughter who sang at her father's revival meetings. Yet, she feels that her double life is a curse and is desperate to find out more about it.

And like the other books, she has loved ones in both time lines. Though she is unaware of the fact that she is closing in on the date when she will have to choose one over the other. Will she be able to discover the truth of her existence in time?

I loved both time periods that Caroline lived in. And I definitely had a favorite that I was hoping she would choose. I loved the twists that the author brought into the story. And I loved that we got to see some characters from a previous book. And I loved how important faith was and that the characters talked about the need for trusting in God.

I think this book may be my favorite in the series. And I definitely can't wait to read book 5.
