Friday Fun - October 6th, 2018

Welcome to my Friday Fun post. This is where I share with two different book parties that post on Fridays: Book Beginnings on Fridays and the Friday 56.

Last week I shared that I was reading Generation One in the Lorien Legacies Reborn series because I had to hurry up as Fugitive Six (the second book) was due back at the library. Well, I finished it and started Fugitive Six. So, today that is the book I am sharing.

Book Beginnings on Fridays

(Please join Gilion Dumas for Book Beginnings every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.)

Here is my book beginnings for Fugitive Six by Pittacus Lore.

From the Prologue:

"Duanphen watched the beggar as he scurried through traffic with his bucket and rag. The boy couldn't have been more than twelve, small, with a mop of greasy black hair. He picked his cars smartly-shiny ones with tinted windows and drunk passengers."

Well, I was a bit surprised that the book opened by introducing a new character. Wasn't sure if I would like it, but fortunately it was just setting the stage for what was going on, and in chapter two we were back with the characters we've come to know and love.

Now for:
The Friday 56

The Friday 56 is hosted over at Freda's Voice.
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that's ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it) that grab you.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It's that simple.

Here is my Friday 56 selection.

 Fugitive Six by Pittacus Lore

"'They've got moles here,' Taylor said. 'Maybe we should get some there.'
'How do you suggest we do that?'
'Let me go back,' Taylor replied. 'Let them recruit me. I'll be a double agent.'"
